Barbados is often referred to as the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean. And, it is also the birthplace of rum, dating back to 1703. The popular and fun-filled Barbados Food and Rum Festival has given birth to a series of one-of-a-kind events, or better yet – culinary and beverage experiences designed to tantalize the taste buds, while offering a variety of other colourful and flavourful experiences to stimulate the other senses as well.
This four-day festival which has been running for 10+ years packs a punch with signature events like the food truck mash-up, breakfast on the beach, rum tours, community pop-ups, VIP Evenings, and more. Over 30 local chefs, culinary personalities, mixologists, and renowned rum producers will delight and prepare the sumptuous cuisine and exotic drinks to be served up. The event starts with an open-air fish fry at the famed Oistins under the stars.
The theme for this year’s Barbados Food and Rum Festival is “Feed the Future”, highlighting the event’s commitment to support education and training for the youth and adopting more sustainable practices in the industry.
